Our dental team is comprised of highly trained and skilled professionals who are registered with the GDC. We are committed to ongoing training and education. We regularly attend training classes and dental lectures so we can offer the best techniques, procedures, products and equipment to our patients. We are members of various dental associations this enables us to keep up with advancements in the dental profession – providing you with the best care.

We feel it is important that our patients fully understand the diagnosis and treatment recommendations. Understanding your treatment needs allows you peace of mind and trust in the services we provide using treatment planning software and communication to help you visualise your personal dental plan.

Colin qualified from the Welsh National School of Medicine and Dentistry in 1977. Whilst there he won the prestigious Franklin Williams Elective Prize. In 1996, Colin gained the Postgraduate Qualification, Membership of the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners (MFGDP) from the Royal College of Surgeons, London. In 2000, following 3 years of study, Colin was the first dentist in Wales to be awarded the Postgraduate Diploma in Dental Studies (DPDS).

Colin has been involved in the postgraduate vocational training of dentists for over 20 years (DF1).In 2012 he was the only dentist in Wales to receive “The Best Award” presented by the Welsh Deanery of Postgraduate Medicine and Dentistry.

Colin’s special interests are in cosmetic dentistry and the treatment of anxious and nervous patients. Although interested in all sports, in his spare time, Colin plays golf(badly!) with a handicap of 14 and he loves to follow Rugby.

Mrs Denise Griffiths

Denise qualified with distinction from the dental hospital in 1976 as a dental nurse. In her National exams, she came top in the country.

She then went on to become a Senior Dental Nurse, running the Oral Health low-line Department. She married Colin in 1979 and had 2 children, Christopher and Lara. She has worked with Colin for 30 years to build a practice to be proud of. She focused on Practice Management and attained a Diploma from the Institute of Leaders and Management.

Dr Lara D Vincent

Lara qualified as a dental surgeon from Cardiff Dental University with Honours and has worked at Glenhaven Dental Care since graduating. Lara takes pride in working alongside her father, Colin and is a director of the company.

Lara has a keen interest in all aspects of dentistry but especially enjoys cosmetic dentistry. She has studied and written a paper on correct colour matching techniques in dentistry.
She takes pride in providing the highest standard of care and is dedicated to producing the best aesthetic results. Her interests include tooth whitening and tooth coloured restorations.

Since graduating Lara has continued her passion for aesthetics and has received post-graduate training in facial aesthetics including advanced training in the use of botulinum toxin (BTX) and facial fillers.

Lara is continuing her Postgraduate education and is currently studying for the Diploma of Membership of the Joint Dental Faculties at The Royal College of Surgeons of England (MJDF RCS Eng). Lara has also completed Postgraduate courses studying various tooth straightening techniques (Orthodontics) with the use of clear braces and is currently undergoing further education with the use of Invisalign braces.

Lara’s artistic flair in dentistry is founded by her love and study of art. In her spare time, she also enjoys socialising with friends and spending time at the gym.

Dr Mark Vincent

Mark, our Dental Surgeon, qualified from Cardiff Dental School, with honours in 2011. From a young age, Mark has always wanted to pursue a dental career, much influenced by his grandmother and father (both dental technicians in the trade).

Raised and educated in the Rhondda Valleys, Mark has loved working in Taffs Well and building a strong rapport with his patients. He strives to ensure that at all times his patients are treated with an honest, professional and caring manner. Mark also enjoys taking advantage of our digital x-ray and high-resolution photography equipment to involve his patients more in their treatment and make their experience of the dental chair more educative and interesting.

Mark enjoys all aspects of his profession, and is very enthusiastic about restorative and aesthetic treatment procedures, and in 2012, won 1st prize for a presentation based on restorative treatment provided at our practice. He strives to further develop his postgraduate knowledge and skills as a dentist, and is currently studying for a Diploma of Membership of the Joint Dental Faculties at The Royal College of Surgeons of England (MJDF RCS Eng)

Outside of dentistry Mark’s hobbies include swimming, playing the drums, and he loves all outdoor activities, especially walking.

Christopher Griffiths

Christopher graduated from the University of Glamorgan with a law degree in 2010. Having enjoyed his experiences at Glamorgan so much, he decided to continue his postgraduate education and proceed to the Legal Practice Course. Chris successfully passed this exam in 2012. After much consideration, he decided to put his legal expertise to good use and joined the family firm of Dentists!

Chris has been at Glenhaven Dental Care since 2009 where he began work as a part time assistant to his mother and Practice manager, Denise. He is currently working as Business Manager of the practice where his duties include improving efficiency, marketing and maintaining the website and social media. At the end of 2013, he was delighted to be confirmed as a ‘Denplan Champion’.

Interestingly, Chris is also a keen golfing enthusiast, a passion he shares with his father, Colin. Chris enjoys many sports including football, rugby, tennis and is also the proud owner of a black belt in Tae-Kwon-Do.

Jack qualified as a dental surgeon from Cardiff Dental School with Honours and started working at Glenhaven Dental Care in 2014. Jack is passionate about his profession and always endeavours to provide the highest standard of care for his patients.

Jack has a special interest in Dental Implants and has Masters in Implantology from Bristol University (Distinction). He is also the South Wales study club director for the International Team for Implantology.

Jack has previously completed a Clinical Attachment in Oral Surgery at Bristol University and has been awarded the Diploma of Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgeons (MFDS) by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Jack is a part time clinical lecturer in restorative dentistry at Bristol University.

Outside of dentistry, Jack is a keen sportsman, regularly competing in swimming and enjoys playing golf in his spare time. Married to Sarah, they have a baby daughter, Carys and a cat called Margot!

Dr. Mallorie has travelled the World to study the fine art of quality dental surgery on three continents. After completing undergraduate studies here in beautiful Wales (during which time he was awarded the Oral Surgery prize) he then completed further study at the Royal College of Surgeons, London. Following on from that Dr Mallorie spent some years working as an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Senior House Officer in Wales involving many hours of oral surgery training and experience as well as being involved in teaching dental students how to remove complex wisdom teeth.

From there Dr Mallorie moved toAustralia where he worked in the beautiful city of Melbourne in private practice. During his time there he dipped across the pond to California, USA where he completed a one-year Master Implant Clinician Program through the University of California Los Angeles and the Global Institute for Dental Education. Dr Mallorie finished the course as top student amongst the international intake of150 Master Clinician’s. Following on from this, and thirsty for more study, he went onto complete a Graduate Diploma in Dental Implants from Sydney University with distinction whilst also maintaining busy private practice in Melbourne.

Dr Mallorie has presented/lectured in the field of oral surgery and dental implants inChina, The Netherlands, USA, Australia and here in the UK. Whilst in Australia he was appointed Director of the Melbourne gIDE Master Implant Clinician Study Club from 2011-2014. He has also found time over the years to publish research papers in well-respected academic journals such as the International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and the Angle Orthodontist.

Upon his return to the UK Dr Mallorie completed postgraduate training in Dental Sedation at the prestigious King’s College London. Following completion of this degree Dr Mallorie worked on Harley Street in London which is arguably the most World-renowned medical district. The practice he worked at was the longest-established private dental surgery in the UK and working within its walls enabled him to continue to provide high quality care for his patients. During his time in London Dr Mallorie spent one day every week working as a Clinical Teacher in Oral Surgery at the World Class training facility King’s College Hospital Oral Surgery Department. Here he spent his time teaching budding dental surgeons oral surgery and dental sedation skills.

Dr Mallorie has been placing dental implants for well over 10 years with a current success rates in excess of98-percent so you can rest assured you are in great hands.

Safe to say Dr Mallorie is well versed and experienced in dealing with all manner of dental implant cases from a single missing tooth replacement to a total smile rehabilitation with techniques such as“All-on-4” and “Teeth-in-a-day”. In addition, he is also highly skilled at removing wisdom teeth, no matter how impacted they are, using techniques he has learned over the years to help ensure the treatment is as comfortable for his patients as possible.

Dr Mallorie now works part-time as a Specialty Dental Surgeon in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery atCardiff’s University Dental Hospital performing all manner of oral surgery procedures under both local and general anaesthetic as well as teaching junior dental surgeons. The rest of his time is spent providing oral surgery procedures, dental implants and sedation treatments for private dental practices in South Wales.

Dr Mallorie is an active member of the British Association of Oral Surgeons, the European Association of Dental Implantologists and the Global Institute for Dental Education. Whilst in London he was appointed as the London Regional Representative for the British Association of Oral Surgeons.

Away from the surgery Dr Mallorie also likes a challenge and over the years he has completed events such as the Tough Mudder in Australia, Tough Guy in England, The Mighty Deer Stalker in Scotland, and The World Bog Snorkelling Championships here in Wales. He is married with two young boys and his biggest challenge currently is getting them to eat their greens.
